A youth named Tara Mia (30) died on account of lightning in Sarishabari of Jamalpur.
The incident passed off in Batikamari village of Aona union of the upazila round 2.30 pm on Wednesday. Tara Mia is the son of deceased Abdul Khalek of that village. He was a battery operated autorickshaw driver by occupation.
Confirming the matter, Aona Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Bellah Hossain stated that it has been drizzling in all components of the district for the previous few days. From Wednesday morning, lightning accompanied by rain occurred in all components of this upazila. Within the afternoon rain they went to fetch jute leaves for Mia’s home animals goats. At the moment he was severely injured by lightning. Locals rescued him and took him to Tarakandi Jamuna Sarkarkhana Hospital the place the physician on responsibility declared him useless.
