The election was held on Friday at Resort Leela Palace in Chennai, India. All Congress officers of the World Chess Federation participated within the election. Syed Shahab Uddin was elected president there.
From 2022 to 2026, Shahab Uddin holds the accountability for World Chess Federation Zone 3.2.
Shahab Uddin beforehand served because the President of World Chess Federation Zone 3.2. He was elected president within the first time period in 2018.
