On the event of the forty seventh martyrdom anniversary and nationwide mourning day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15, a preparatory assembly of the upazila administration was held in Gouripur, Mymensingh. The assembly was held on the Upazila Public Corridor on Wednesday (August 3) afternoon.
Upazila Government Officer Hasan Maruf presided over the assembly. Talking – Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mosa. Nikhat Ara, Performing President of Upazila Awami League Dr. Helal Uddin Ahmed, Performing Common Secretary Mr. Nurul Islam, Joint Common Secretary Iqbal Hossain Jewel, Gouripur Police Station Officer-in-Cost (OC) Khan Md. Abdul Halim Siddiqui, Upazila Parishad Girls Vice-Chairman Salma Akhter Ruby, Upazila Agriculture Officer Lutfunnahar Lipi, Upazila Freedom Fighters Congress Former Commander Bir Muktijoddha A. Rahim, Municipal Panel Mayor Nazim Uddin, UP Chairman Hazrat Ali, Al Farooq, Al Muqtadir Shaheen and many others.
Within the assembly, it was determined to look at the 73rd start anniversary of the heroic freedom fighter Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal on August 8, the 92nd start anniversary of Bangamata Begum Fazilatun Nesha Mujib on August 8 and the forty seventh martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15 and the National Mourning Day with due dignity.
