Initially falling in love with a contemporary residence constructed on a flat lot in Atherton, California, the householders spent years renovating their property to incorporate a small storage growth and second flooring addition. The one factor left to deal with was their outside house. The personal yard, stuffed with redwoods and different mature bushes, marked the perfect house to rework into their dream outside oasis. Surrounded by the plush panorama, the Atherton Pavilions, designed by Feldman Structure, add extra sq. footage – 450-square-feet every, to be precise – for an out of doors kitchen and eating space, in addition to a spot for meditation and train.
The pavilions are strategically positioned across the unique bushes serving to to mix the brand new constructions with nature. The kitchen pavilion and patio house are located by the swimming pool making for the proper yard BBQ setup.
Each pavilions are clad on the ends with Alaskan yellow cedar slats, for privateness on the train/meditation one and for including a sense of openness on the kitchen construction. Over time, the wooden with naturally climate making it additional mix into its environment.
A pathway passes a brand new water function on the best way to the second pavilion, which homes the meditation, yoga, and train studio.
Each pavilions are lifted off of concrete foundations making the constructions seem as if they’re floating over the panorama.
