A picnic trawler was struck by lightning in Shitalakshya river in Kaliganj, Gazipur. In worry of this, a younger man named Rupai Hossain (21) jumped into the river and went lacking.
The incident befell in Sawraid space of Jamalpur Union of the upazila on Thursday (August 4) afternoon. Rupai is the son of Abdul Jabbar of Bagherpara village of Ward No. 7 of Kaliganj Municipality. He’s a Mahendra driver by occupation.
Group Chief of Kaliganj Hearth Service. Shamim Bhuiyan mentioned, ‘After this incident within the afternoon, a diving workforce of 6 members from Tongi got here to the spot and began rescue work in quest of the lacking youth. However he was not discovered till the afternoon.’
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Kaliganj Police Station. Azad Parvez mentioned, ‘A picnic trawler from Bagherpara village of Kaliganj city space was heading in the direction of Barmi in Sreepur. Within the afternoon there was a sudden lightning strike and everybody within the trawler received scared. At the moment, Rupai, sitting behind the trawler, jumped into the river and disappeared.
